COMING & GOING BARBECUE
Sunday, August 31st at 12:00 noon
Stay for lunch after the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday August 31st! Join us for a barbecue outside on our grounds as we say farewell to our seminarian, Brendan McGrath and as we welcome Father Duy Nguyen to St. Ann’s.
Brendan is heading back to St. Peter’s Seminary to complete his final year of study before priesthood. We have enjoyed having him with us and want to send him on his way with our prayers and good wishes. As for Father Duy, even though he has been with us since July, many parishioners have yet to meet him formally. This Barbecue is your chance!
Food and drink supplied by the parish; labour by our intrepid Knights of Columbus! Hamburgers, hot dogs and sausages are on the menu. If you want to bring anything, a lawn chair might be helpful. We will meet in the wooded lot beside the parish center, where the barbecues will be fired up and ready to go!
(Not to neglect the congregations at Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m., we will have refreshments in the parish center following those Masses - with Father Duy and Brendan as our guests of honour!)
Regular Mass Schedule - September 13/14
We return to our regular Sunday Mass Schedule on the weekend of September 13/14:

The summer schedule remains in effect up to and including the weekend of September 6/7.
Lost and Found
We recently found two perfectly good bicycle helmets on our parish grounds. We will me more than happy to return them to the rightful owners who are able to identify them.
LIGHTHOUSE CATHOLIC CD’S
Planning a driving trip this summer? Make good use of your car’s audio system with a couple of excellent Catholic CDs from our Lighthouse Display. The suggested offering is just $5.00 per title. Why settle for fuzzy radio reception when your drive could be enhanced with these engaging, inspiring talks?
Some of our best titles:
•Seven Reasons to be Catholic by Dr. Peter Kreeft (Fr. Dan’s personal favourite)
•How to Apply Faith to our Families by Kimberley Hahn (excellent resource for parents)
•The Fourth Cup by Dr. Scott Hahn (great explanation of the Eucharist)
•The Spirit of Sacrifice in the Family by Fr. Benedict Groeschel (noted psychologist and spiritual writer)
....and these CDs aren’t just for vacationers - they’re great for commuters too. Thrive as you drive!

R.C.I.A
Are you interested in the Catholic Faith?
St. Ann Parish will soon begin a new journey in faith to share the richness of the Catholic Church and our parish family. We invite you to learn what the Church teaches, and be introduced to some of our parish members. These sessions also are opportunities for you and others that you may wish to invite to ask those perplexing and difficult questions you may have about the Church. These gatherings are for inquirers and are open to people who are not baptized as well as those who are baptized Christians from Protestant or Orthodox backgrounds. The first sessions will begin in September. To register or to learn more about our R.C.I.A. program please contact Fr. Dan at the parish office.
The St. Thomas More Lawyers Guild is a group of judges, lawyers and other professionals engaged in the law. Annually, at the beginning of the Fall Court Assizes a Red Mass is celebrated seeking God’s blessings. This year, in Hamilton, the Guild is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. The Red Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 9:30 a.m. in the Cathedral of Christ the King by the Most Reverend Anthony Tonnos. The homily will be preached the Most Reverend Thomas Collins, the Archbishop of Toronto. The Guild extends a cordial invitation to all to attend this historic event.
